After four years of closure, they could reopen the Prada Costabella lifts. On July 31, 2004, the Malcesine Monte Baldo Cable Car was commissioned to obtain the concession for works that would last for 5 months for a cost of 3.6 million euros and a thirty years' management.

The program, exhibited on Friday 4 August at a press conference, involves the modernization of the two-seater cestovia, the replacement of the single-seater chairlift with a two-seater and the elimination of the three skilifts.

"We thank those who worked on the presentation of the project for the Prada lifts, many people, cable technicians, municipal councils and also thanks to Mayor Marchesini who allowed the cable car to invest outside its territory. We hope that now the administration gives us a hand to reopen them soon for a fundamental service throughout the area", said Brenzone Mayor Tommaso Bertoncelli.

Daniele Polato, chairman of the Malcesine cable car, is also satisfied: "We will make the bidding process in suspension for the individualisation of the subjects who will have to do the work, with the specification that the start of the work will be determined by the administration. Let's do this to open the activity in summer 2018. We are confident that the President of the Province will pay attention to this development of the territory. This concession that will be issued by the Province is very important for the territory. "

So we are waiting for the Province's OK to give way to the work. The goal is to revitalize the area with access to the so-called "Highway of the Creste del Baldo".
